Today is National Chocolate Chip Day!!! I’m going to give you three chocolate chip recipes and I am also going to GIVE AWAY a chocolate chip scented candle!

Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened

¾ cups granulated sugar

¾ cups light brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 eggs

2 cups (12 oz. pkg.) Semi-Sweet chocolate chips

1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Heat oven to 375°. Stir together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl with mixer until creamy. Add eggs one at a time; beating well after each addition. Gradually add flour mixture; beat well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts, if desired. Drop by rounded teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Let stand on cookie sheet for two minutes then carefully remove them and let stand on wire rack until cooled.

Banana Chocolate Chip Bread

1¾ cups flour

1¼ teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

¾ teaspoon salt

2/3 cup sugar

1/3 cup shortening

2 tablespoons milk

2 eggs

1 cup mashed banana

¼ cups nuts, chopped (optional)

½ cup chocolate chips

Combine all ingredients. Put in greased baking loaf pan. Bake in a preheated 350° oven for one hour. For extra flavor, top with a little whipped cream when serving.

Cowboy Cookies

1 cup butter

2 eggs

1 teaspoon baking soda

2 cups rolled oats

1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

½ teaspoon salt

1 12 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips

2 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

Cream together sugars, butter, eggs, and vanilla until fluffy. Sift dry ingredients and stir. Add oats, chocolate chips, and nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 12 minutes.

ReplyDelete1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips (melted if preferred)

2 ripe bananas

2 cups of Jiffy Baking Mix

3/4 cup of raw sugar or honey

1/4 cup of olive oil/butter

1 teas van. favoring

1 teas lemon favoring

2 eggs

1 cup of crushed pecans

Mix all together and bake for 28 minutes on 350 degrees...

Ummm Yummm....

I LOVE chocolate chips. I always add them to waffles and oatmeal. Or I cut up a banana, put it in a bowl, and sprinkle in chocolate chips. A healthy yet chocolate-y snack.
